I looove Hong Kong! Today is our first day. We arrived last night after the 16 hour flight ( I should have remembered to have the NyQuil handy to make me sleep). Entering the airport, first impressions are: clean, friendly, excellent signage and amazingly simple to figure out the metro and buy a ticket. Took the MTR (metro) to Hong Kong central. Then took the metro line to North Point where our Ibis hotel room has an amazing view of the harbor. Wrote in my journal, "We turned off the room lights to fully appreciate the view through the large window. It was captivating. The night lights on the harbor reflected in the water with a backdrop of skyscraper buildings (some that changed color). One of those views you see on post cards but never look on paper as thrilling as in real life."
Will try to upload a picture or two tomorrow...
Had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. Bought the tee shirt.
